Ausführliche Beschreibung:

Le Vieux Presbytere is a 400 yrs old presbytere in Noulens, a sleepy hamlet close to the market town of Eauze in the Gers. The 2 gites have been created (2005) from an old barn and face south and west with lovely sunset balconies. Both are light, airey and modern with touches of French country chic. La Mouette, the larger of the gites sleeps 6 max, has one double bedroom with bathroom, sitting area and balcony on the mezzanine level. Another bedroom with 2 single beds, separate shower room on the ground floor. Large open living and eating area which also has a sofabed for 2. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave. L'Herisson, perfect for a couple or a small family, has one double with balcony on the mezzanine. A sofa bed on the ground floor for 2 with a shower room and living and dining area. Also a well equipped kitchen. Both gites have a pretty terrace facing the gardens, perfect for al fresco dining. BBQ's are supplied and there are bicycles for guests use and plenty of sunloungers and even 2 hammocks. The gardens include an acre of pine trees, fruit trees and pretty shrubs and flowers surrounding the salt water swimming pool. The pool is 10 x 5, 1.5 metres deep with a security alarm and is available from May to October. All linen and bathtowels are supplied. The bed and breakfast, L'Atelier, is part of the main house but with private entrance. The room has a small sitting area, where breakfast is taken in the winter, which looks over the pool and the gardens. A comfortable, generous sized French double bed with fresh white linen. The bathroom has a free standing Victorian bath and a wet room with monsoon shower. Dinners are available on request.

The Gers, where people live longer, is endowed with clear unpolluted skies, little traffic, friendly people, a temperate climate and a variety of fresh country produce found in the daily village markets. The area is renowned for its duck, foie gras and Armagnac and during the summer there are many festivals such as Jazz at Marciac, Country and Western at Mirande, Tempo Latino at Vic-Fezensac, bullfighting, horse racing and motor racing at Nogaro. There is always something to see and do in the area from visiting medieval bastide villages (this is D'Artagnan country), beautiful landscapes, wine and Armagnac tasting, collecting antiques, riding, walking and cycling to just lazing by the pool on a hot summer's afternoon with a glass of fresh local wine! Le Vieux Presbytère is a 2 hour drive from Biarritz and the wonderful long, sandy beaches of the Atlantic. The Pyrenees are also 2 hours drive and have good, challenging skiing in the winter and wonderful alpine summer walks

Freizeitaktivitäten:

Swimming, walking, cycling, running, golf, boules, tennis, horse riding all available either on the property or within 6 kms. Skiing and sailing within an 2 hours drive. Bullfighting is popular with the locals in this area and there are many meetings throughout the summer, most famous of those in Vic-Fezensac at Pentecost, in Mont-de-Marsan and Eauze. There are many motor racing events throughout the year at Nogaro which hosts racing for Porches, heavy trucks, super bikes, historic cars and bikes. Also a variety of festivals from Country and Western in Mirande (July), Jazz in Marciac (1st 2 weeks in August), Tempo Latino Salsa in Vic-Fesensac and various villages who have classical and operatic evenings.

Anreisebeschreibung:

The Gers is roughly between Bordeaux and Toulouse and stretches south towards the Pyrenees. The hamlet of Noulens is between Eauze (6kms) and Condom (20kms) and near the town of Vic-Fezensac (15kms). From the airport of Toulouse drive west on the N124 towards Auch, Vic-Fezensac and Demu - Noulens is signposted (Bascous) off the N124 just after Demu and is found within approx 4 kms. Le Vieux Presbytere is before the church on the left.
