The apartments are situated in a quiet place surrounded by vineyards. Outside house there is a big garden with many trees and some garden-seats. Near the garden there is a private parking-area. Tuscolo ruins, Eremo dei Cappuccini with Ethiopic Museum, Eremo di Camadolfi, the Art Gallery (pinacoteca) of the Greek Catholic Abbey of di San Nilo, Catacombs "Ad Decimum", San Silvestro Abbey, Astronomic Observatory of Monteporzio Catone, and the magnific Rome. The Villa Torlonia, nearby, was destroyed in the war. You can still admire the gardens, and an impressive fountain, the Teatro delle acque (water theatre), designed by Carlo Maderno. The cathedral is worth a look, as are some of Frascati's other churches. The expression Castelli Romani translates literally as 'Roman Castles', but in fact the name refers to a collection of wine-producing hill-towns to the south-east of Rome. These small towns and villages are scattered over the wooded slopes of the Alban Hills (Colli Albani), a landscape created by long-ago volcanic activity.
