Description of the area:
5 Minuten vom Haus entfernt erreichen Sie die Naturbadestelle an der Küste. Eine weitere Bademöglichkeit befindet sich im Nachbarort Sta. Cruz. Beim abendlichen Grillen auf der Terrasse können Sie den nächsten Tag in Ruhe planen. Wandern, Segeln, Whale-Watching, Pico-Besteigung, Angeln, Schwimmen, Schnorcheln, Tauchen, Ausruhen? Alles ist möglich. Das Haus befindet sich im Dörfchen "Pontas Negras" auf der Südseite der Insel Pico. Das Dorf hat ca. 70 Einwohner. Ortskern ist die 1950 erbaute Kirche "Nossa Senhora da Fatima". Im Café können Sie sich einen guten Espresso schmecken lassen. Zum Café gehört auch ein kleiner Supermarkt der jeden Tag geöffnet hat. Hier können Sie auch Ihre Brötchen bestellen, die jeden Tag (außer Samstag) geliefert werden. Im Nachbarort Sta. Cruz gibt es das Restaurant des lokalen Sportvereins und einen öffentlichen Swimming-pool. In der Kreisstadt Lajes do Pico finden Sie u. a. : Post, Banken, Supermärkte, Bäcker, Restaurants, Shops und das Walfängermuseum
