In personal atmosphere we offer 2 B&B bedrooms with private bathrooms with breakfast and lunch or dinner if you wish. We offer vegetarian food as well. Of course you have your coffee- and tea-facilities.
Or, to be more independent, you stay in our self-catering apartment, for 4-5 guests, with kitchen, dining-room and living-room. It is of course furnished, including a kitchen, with oven and hob, micro-wave, hot water, toaster, coffeemaker, kettle, dishes and cutlery. The heating is powered by a wood-burning stove and electric radiators.
The finca is about 150 years old, beautifully restored in 1998 but very rustic and authentically rural.
Our lovely terrace with small swimming-pool will round up a beautiful stay in the amazing nature of the Extremadura.

Description of the area:

Once there, however, the visitor will surely not be disappointed, for this is a wonderfully restored accommodation with the added bonus of having some unique characteristics. Firstly, it is slap bang on the Spanish Portuguese border.

You can literally come in from the Spanish side and walk out through the other doors onto the magnificent São Mamede Natural Park in Portugal.
Trekking is possible on sign-posted tracks or with a local guide (trekking bikes can be rented). Cycling and horse riding are available within 4km distance. The Golf Ammaia Club de Golf de Marvão is 5km away. Places to see in the area include Castelo de Vide, Marvão in Portugal, and the Dolmen Routes, important megalithic monuments in the area. Caceres is also nearby, where you can visit many old palaces, towers, churches and convents from the 14th and 16th Centuries.

From Caceres take the N521 to Valencia de Alcantara. At the end of the village towards Portugal, take the turn off to the right for San Pedro. After 1 km take another turn-off to the right for La Fontanera. In the village, we are the last house on the left hand side.
