There are a lot of things to do in and around Abtenau. The next place for outdoor swimming is 15 kilometres away (and there are several others not too far away as well). The city of Salzburg is 40 minutes to go by car. If you want to go sledding or ice skating you can do that directly in Abtenau. In and around Abtenau there are many possibilities to take cable cars up the mountains and just enjoy the view or go for a walk. Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski-trekking, snowboarding, luge (run), ice-skating, bobsleigh, bathing, canyoning, rafting, golf, tennis, riding school, pathway, coastal/forest paths, hiking, climbing, mountain bike (path), kite flying, parachuting, hang-gliding, paragliding, horse-drawn carriage, horse trecking, mini-golf, rollerblade/rollerskate (circuit), skate board (ramps), fishing, angling.
