Monte da Moita Nova, is a small horse ranch with 4 cottages, situated in the 'Parque Natural Costa Vicentina', 200Km south of Lisbon 50 Km north of the Algarve.

Detailed description:

It gives the possibility to relax in the big garden, to visit one of the small hidden beaches, to walk in the dunes or to take a ride on horseback. The horses, cats and the dog are living around the house.
The eco-system of the dunes nurtures a huge variety of plant and animal life. You can reach the dunes and the hidden coves beyond, by walking 300 meters across Moita Nova's pastures. Other places of interest are the hilly town of Odemira the local administrative center, Monchique in the mountains, Sagres Europe's extreme south-west, Silves ancient capital of the kingdom Algarve, Évora the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, Santiago de Cacem with ist roman ruins.

 

Description of the area:

Monte da Moita Nova is 200km south of Lisbon, and 80km north of Lagos, close to Cabo Sardão.
A 5-10 minute walk brings you to the Atlantic cliffs from which the local beach is accessible down a flight of steps . Further north the coast has many small bays which you can climb down to , and for those who enjoy walking the vast sand dunes invite your exploration.

Leisure activities:

For riders we have 6 horses: 4 arabs, one Lusitana and one pony. Three of the arabs were born here.
The extensive dunes spread out behind the stables, offering long rides on horseback.

Die Anreise
Die nächsten Flughäfen, Faro und Lissabon, sind per Auto in 2 bzw. in 2, Std. zu erreichen.

Ein Mietwagen ist angebracht, da es vor Ort kaum öffentliche Verkehrsmittel gibt.
Von Lissabon aus kann man auch mit dem Schnellbus anreisen, er hält in Cavaleiro
(4, Std).
